VACANCY NOTICE

1.0 FTE Elementary School 3rd Grade Classroom Teacher

General Information

The Falls City School District #57 is accepting applications for a 1.0 FTE elementary school 3rd Grade classroom teacher. Falls City School District operates on a four day school week.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assure that students in grade 3 classroom master the Oregon Standards designated for each class.
• Use technology effectively in instruction to develop student mastery.
• Maintain a safe and secure instructional setting in terms of equipment, materials, and student behavior.    
• Insure that students conform to school, institution rules and procedures
• Communicate and coordinate with other agencies or providers as needed and appropriate.
• Participate in special education and team meetings with colleagues as assigned; participate in professional development opportunities.
• Maintain accurate student records in hard copy and digitally as directed.
• Work as a positive, contributing member of all appropriate educational teams.
• Using student educational and assessment data, develop an education program that meets the needs of each student, including IEPs/504 plans.
• Participate in all faculty meetings, in-service, and trainings as directed..
• Develop and complete yearly professional goals as required by FCSD and TSPC.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Oregon Teaching License through Teacher Standards and Practices Commission (TSPC) with the appropriate endorsement. Preference may be given to applicants with multiple endorsements.
• Must be able to teach to the Common Core standards, providing assistance to students who are below benchmark, and providing daily guided instruction related to improving the student’s ability to successfully pass all of the Oregon tests, and designing and implementing work samples and interim assessments.
• Must be able provide engaging instruction for students that leads to every student meeting state benchmarks.

Salary and Benefits

1. This is a 169 day licensed position, represented by Falls City Teachers Association.
2. Placement on the FCTA licensed salary schedule will be commensurate with applicant’s qualifications, relevant training, and experience.
3. FCSD will support payment for health, dental, and vision insurance premiums for qualified employees based on the FTE ratio. Employer-paid PERS is provided to qualified employees.
